Thanks for visiting! My name is Fred Zimny and I live in Lake Placid, NY, USA. Photography has been a hobby of mine since I was a youngster when my dad gave me my first camera. Being able to shoot family vacations, birthdays and Christmas' was fun at the time, but years later, those photos are now some of the most valuable things I own. As I traded up from my first Instamatic camera with flash cubes to today's DSLR, sport photography became an early passion and even now continues to be a strong interest. As a former competitor and long-time coach with the USA Luge Team, I have the privilege every year to travel around the globe to some of the most beautiful, scenic, inspiring, exciting and sometimes bleak and desolate places in the world. All of which offer up endless photo opportunities.
The photos you'll find on this site are a collection of my favorite images of people, events, and landscapes from those places. They capture a moment in time that will live forever in my memory. I hope you'll enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them. Thanks again for visiting!
